One of my favourite, but busiest times of the year is August. Generally I don’t do much writing, as I’m busy visiting schools and talking to young people about reading, writing and how publishing works.
This year I travelled from Warrnambool to Geelong, Fawkner to Mount Eliza, Geelong to Essendon. As always, I love the students’ enthusiasm and humour and the staffs’ passion for books and reading.
I’ve had a few quiet days, tidying up my desk, finishing an essay and fiddling around with a new WIP (work in progress) which have been lovely. Tomorrow I start a residency at Eltham North Primary school, which I’m excited about.
