This week in Portable Magic, I interview author Deborah Abela.
Deb writes junior fiction books, including the Max Remy series and The Spectacular Spelling Bee, and picture books. Her latest picture book is Bear in Space, illustrated by Marjorie Crosby-Fairall.
As well as being a busy writer, Deb is also a passionate supporter of authors and illustrators, working with organisations like the Society of Children’s Book Writers – SCBWI – and The Australian Society of Authors – ASA – to promote, celebrate and encourage Australian book creators.
In this interview, Deb talks about everything from a zoo visit to producing a kids’ TV program. Her energy and passion for books, writing and kids are contagious, as you’ll find when you watch Portable Magic.
