Dr Sophie Masson, AM was born in Indonesia and grew up between France and Australia. Her childhood experiences, her keen eye for detail and her love of story have contributed to her 70 books for children, young adults and adults. Sophie is also a champion of writing and writers. As well as being a writer, she is a former chair of the Australian Society of Authors and creative writing teacher. Sophie knows story, publishing and the challenges both can throw up.

In Portable Magic Sophie speaks about writing, how inspiration hits her and the changes she’s seen over her 30 year career as an author. Sophie is generous with her experience and stories and I know you will enjoy this chat as much as I did.

I have a few more Portable Magics up my sleeve for 2020, then Portable Magic will take a break for the Christmas and New Year period. That will give you time to catch up with episodes you’ve missed and me a chance to recharge and catch up on my reading – especially the fabulous Australian children’s books and young adult fiction.

Enjoy this week’s Portable Magic with Dr Sophie Masson, AM.
