Sue Hindle, Prue Pittock and I had a fabulous day launching our non-fiction book for children, You Matter – Be Your Own Best Friend.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to launch a book in person, but that wasn’t what made this day so special. The people who supported us made the day a joy.
We kicked off our day with a book tour to The Book Bird in Geelong West, Dymocks Waurn Ponds and Torquay books, where we signed copies of You Matter. Sue, Prue and I chatted, laughed (a lot) and generally had a fabulous time.

From there it was on to our launch venue at 407 Yarra Street, Geelong. This healing hub is a very special place, filled with the most incredible women. We held our launch in the backroom, which opens out onto a deck.
My friend and collaborator Aunty Fay Muir started the night with an Acknowledgement of Country and our incredible publisher, Maryann Ballantyne launched our book.

A massive thank you to Aunty Fay and Maryann, but also to Alice, Georgia, Nette and Kira for the beautiful space and delicious juice. Thank you also to Toppy, Kt, Bruce, Andrew and Maryann for chopping and helping us prepare. And a massive thank you to the generous people who attended, especially those who travelled. We are so very grateful.

My final thank you is to my co-creators – Sue and Prue. It has been a complete joy to work with these two generous, talented people. I’m looking forward to more road trips and projects with you. And I promise not to drop anything…often.
You can read more about You Matter on the Book Bird’s blog about You Matter, thanks to the lovely Charlotte.
