Sue Lawson, interviewer & MC

Like many other authors, Sue Lawson has worked in a variety of careers. She’s been a school teacher, bookseller, swimming teacher, gift store manager and for more than 18 years, a radio announcer with both commercial stations and ABC Radio, Victoria. Sue was renowned for her warm and insightful interviews.

In 1989 Sue became the ABC’s first female breakfast announcer in Australia.

Sue’s skill and passion for interviewing, combined with her love for books and reading, make her the ideal facilitator for your next event.

Sue keeps the conversation flowing and accessible to the audience, while always retaining focus on the interviewee. She helps the interviewee relax while at the same time asking thought-provoking questions.

Sue’s radio and interviewing background also make her a sought-after MC for events, whether literary, fundraising or student-focused.

Sue conducts regular sessions for the Geelong Regional Library Corporation, and for the past five years has facilitated sessions at Australia’s only non-fiction literary festival, the Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival, in Geelong. Sue is now a member of the Word for Word Advisory Committee.

Sue has interviewed Australian authors, Thomas Kenneally, Graeme Simsion, Sarah Krasnostein, Monica Dux, Sarah Krasnostein, Jane Harper, Anne Buist, Gabbie Stroud, Morris Gleitzman, Rosalie Ham, and many more.
