Like many other authors, Sue Lawson has worked in a variety of careers. She’s been a school teacher, bookseller, swimming teacher, and for more than 12 years, a radio announcer with both commercial stations and ABC Radio, Victoria.

At the ABC, Sue presented the morning program at two regional stations before becoming in 1989, the ABC’s first female breakfast announcer in Australia. Sue was renowned for her warm and insightful interviews.

Sue’s skill and passion for interviewing, combined with her love for books and reading, make her the ideal facilitator for your next event. Sue keeps the conversation flowing and accessible to the audience, while always retaining the focus on the interviewee. She is able to juggle keeping the interviewee relaxed while at the same time asking thought-provoking questions.

Sue’s radio and interviewing background also make her a sought-after MC for events, whether literary, fundraising or student focused.

Sue has interviewed Australian authors, Graeme Simsion, Jane Harper, Anne Buist, Gabbie Stroud, Australian Children’s Laureate, Morris Gleitzman, Rosalie Ham, and many more.

Sue conducts regular sessions for the Geelong Regional Library Corporation, and for the past three years has facilitated sessions at Australia’s only literary festival focused on  non fiction writing and ideas, the Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival, Geelong.
